International Luncheon

International food

Since this Sunday is Missions Sunday, please join us for an International Luncheon in the Fellowship Hall starting at 12:30 pm.  Each family is asked to bring a main or side dish…as well as a salad or dessert…large enough to serve several!  Let’s see how many international foods we can savor!  If you are able to help set up, serve, or clean up, please contact Ellen Lemke.

District Quiz Meet November 9

Bible quiz

The next quiz meet will be hosted by Christian Fellowship on Saturday, November 9. This quiz meet will cover James 5 and Romans 1-3.  We will be providing lunch for all the participants so please consider donating any of the following:

Hamburger buns
Chips/Salty snacks
Veggie trays
Fruit (bananas, apples, etc.”no utensils needed”)
Breakfast items (bagels, doughnuts, etc)

We also will need volunteers to help in the kitchen and with serving and clean-up.  See Stephanie, Patty, or Tammy if you are available to help.

Missions Sunday – November 24

Santosh Thomas from Kashmir will be here for our annual Missions Sunday (November 24).  Every nation, every tribe, every generation, every person—that’s God’s loving heart for the world.  Come…and have your heart stirred again by what is in God’s heart.

Then share fellowship with Santosh and each other at our International Luncheon afterward. Please consider bringing an international main or side dish plus a salad or dessert. Let’s see how many different countries can be represented…perhaps food we will all recognize (polish sausage, beef stroganoff, Hungarian goulash, strudel, creme brulee, etc.) or perhaps something new to try like pancit.

If you would like to decorate the center of a table around the theme of a specific country, let the Tammy Tucker team know…suggestions are Cameroon, Thailand, Philippines, India, America (for Western Avenue), Dominican Republic, Peru, WFI Country, etc.

Let’s work together to make it meaningful and fun!

Did Someone Yell…Campfire?

Pioneer Club will have a campfire on Wednesday, October 2 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the side yard of the church.  Wear long sleeves, long pants, sneakers, and jackets.  We will be cooking hot dogs and marshmallows over an open campfire, eating finger foods, making s’mores, playing games, and just plain having fun!  All kids of CF are invited (parents, grandparents, and friends are also welcome).

Church Picnic Sept 8, 2013

Church picnic 2013

As you can see, we had a beautiful day for our annual Church Picnic!  Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and great food provided.  We would like to thank all those people who worked in the background to help make this picnic so enjoyable (picnic committee, set-up, clean-up).  What a fantastic job you did!

Believer’s Baptism Sept 15

Next Sunday, September 15, will have a Believer’s Baptism  in the Sanctuary during the 9:30 am worship service.  Water baptism is an outward sign or testimony of the inward work of the Holy Spirit, who baptizes the believer into the Body of Christ.   (Matthew 3:11, 1 Corinthians 12:13)   In doing this, we identify ourselves with our risen Lord and Savior.  If you are ready to publicly declare your faith as a follower of Jesus Christ,  please let an Elder know by Tuesday, September 10.
