Ministries

Our Theology/Philosophy of Ministry

We are a Bible-based, independent, New Testament style church that seeks to promote the same Biblical values initiated by God when Christianity was first established. These “basics” for the church are listed in Acts 2:42-47. “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching (faithful teaching of the Word of God) and to fellowship (Christian community), and to the breaking of bread(worship) and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who believed were together (Biblical community) and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. (Care and stewardship) Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, (Worship) Praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to the number day by day those who were being saved.”(Evangelism)

Every-Person Ministry

We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are given for the purpose of “the building up of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12) and that every believer has at least one spiritual gift (1 Corinthians 12:7). In that sense we are an “every-person ministry” church that seeks to provide opportunity and encouragement for each believer to use their gifts for the blessing of the entire church body. That includes all the functions in the church including teaching so that opportunity is given to people based upon gifting as well as their walk before God, not simply title or position. For pulpit preaching and teaching we have a “teaching team” that includes our pastor but also includes others who in the judgement of the elders have been gifted to teach.

A number of our people are involved in outreach activities such as Christian Women’s Club, small group Bible studies at places of work, The Toledo Rescue Mission, Vacation Bible School, Bible Study Fellowship, and one on one discipleship.
