New Ladies’ Bible Study

Gideon

”Do you feel overwhelmed?  Inexperienced?   Intimitated?  Too old?  Too young?  Too invisible?  Too afraid?  If you’ve ever struggled with insecurity or had trouble accepting your limitations, this study will help you see how God can use your weakness to unlock His strength.”

A new 7-week Ladies’ Bible Study entitled “Gideon” by Priscilla Shirer is starting, on Saturday, June 15 from 9:30-11:00am at Christian Fellowship.  The study includes a video, discussion and daily homework.  See Judy Baker for more information or to order a workbook.  The deadline to purchase books is Sunday, June 9.

The Masculine Mandate

The Masculine Mandate: God’s Calling to Men
By Richard Phillips

Jerry Bridges on The Masculine Mandate:  Richard Phillips “gives us an accurate picture of what it means to be God’s man.  The reader will come away reassured that even though he may possess none of the attributes that the world deems essential for a ‘man’s man’, nevertheless he can be one of God’s Men.”  Check it out!

Be sure to come and cheer our Christian Fellowship co-ed softball team every Tuesday at 7:10 pm at WPOS on Angola Road starting May 21 and continuing until the end of July.  If you have any questions or would like to sub for the team, contact Cory Fritch.  They are also looking for any old equipment you would be willing to donate to the team.  Drop off any donations at the church and put them in the box marked “softball donations” in the coat room.

New Ladies Sunday School Class

One in a Million

Ladies…we want to invite you all to a new Sunday School class that will be starting on May 19 called, One in a Million (Journey to Your Promised Land) by Priscilla Shirer.

“The Egyptians in Exodus 1 were intent on enslaving the Israelites, wearing them down so that God’s chosen people would become disillusioned and not live up to their destiny.  Of the original two million Israelites who received God’s invitation to enter the Promised Land, only two actually entered it!  Modern day Christians often hear and understand the promises of God each Sunday morning at church but then rarely choose to experience them in everyday life.  In One in a Million, Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer invites us to change that pattern for good, living beyond our circumstances and expecting to see God move in miraculous ways day after day. Without a doubt, we can find and follow God’s purpose for our journey. We can make it to the Promised Land!”

This is a seven-week  study with five days of homework each week.  Each Sunday we will watch a video that will be 35-45 minutes long, then break into discussion groups.  If you are interested in being in this study, please see Penny Goodman or Becky Borck to order a book.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Priestap 50th Anniversary-May 2013

On Saturday evening, May 4, we celebrated the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Terry and Jean Priestap.  Many friends and family were there to celebrate their 50 years together.  After a wonderful meal, and some musical favorites led by their family, everyone had the opportunity to share their favorite story of Terry and Jean through the years.  It was evident that the years have only deepened the love they have for each other and for Christ.
